Pizza! It’s What’s for Dinner, Lunch or Breakfast
I believe pizza can be the great equalizer in life
Ah, pizza! Could there be a better equalizer in life? Maybe it isn’t the perfect equalizer like chicken soup, but for me, it’s a close second.
Pizza has taken over the country, and it’s. not stopping its grip on our stomach, pocketbooks, and family values.
Just for fun, how many times do you have pizza in a month with your family or friends? Come on I’ll wait. I bet it’s at least twice, right? Or could it be four or five times a month? How about in a week?
I grew up on pizza while living in Catania, Sicily. My grandparents would make pizza once a week for myself and my cousins if around. That pizza would last a day or two, eating it for lunch, dinner, and a few breakfast meals that I can remember.
My grandfather loved making pizza, almost more so than my grandmother who was the best at it as far as I am concerned.
My grandfather would use certain ingredients to tease our taste buds and then ask us what we just tasted. Anchovies were his signature add-on, and as kids, we weren’t too fond of them, but we ate them to please him.
My grandmother was more traditional with sausage, pepperoni, peppers, and every other kind of meat and veggie would think of.
So I thought this would be a great place to introduce a new series Pizzapocalypse. A tour of pizza around the world. Recipes, pizza parlors to try, and places through the world to go and try their pizza.
While I am not a world traveler I plan to use contacts around the world and research to bring you recipes from the easiest to the hardest to the places where they came from.
Pizza to me is a language spoken and understood by everyone so this should be exciting.
So stay tuned, sign up, and comment about the pizzas you enjoy or crave so I can write about them. Recipes are welcomed in the comment section. Maybe I’ll even try some and make a video.
Till then…
Buon Appetito!
