Garlic Bread on Super Bowl Sunday. Touchdown!
Hey Everyone!
I’m going to post a few videos today showing the making of my garlic bread spread and the results.
I didn’t make my homemade bread today. I wasn’t up for it. So Patti picked me up some good Italian loaves and a couple of sourdough loaves.
I do have an announcement, though.
The paywall for Substack only offers monthly, yearly, and founding members opportunities to support our work. Starting today, we’re changing that with our link to Buy Me a Coffee, now known as Buy Us a Coffee.
If you decide to support us, you can pay as you want and whenever you want. There are no monthly ties unless that’s what you want.
If you have a paid subscription, as I know some of you have done, feel free to cancel it and use Buy Us a Coffee.
Whatever way you decide to support us, whether here on Substack, Buy Me a Coffee, or by referring us to everyone you know, Patti and I appreciate it!
Thank You,
Now on with the show!
I tried not to talk since I was going to post the recipe. But, in the second video I believe you can hear the television and Patti and I talking?
Recipe:
First I sauté the garlic in Olive Oil (Extra Virgin). Once that’s done I add butter (the amount depends on how many loaves of Bread).
I add basil (as little or much as you can handle or want to taste). I also add a little oregano (maybe a large pinch) then rub it in the palms of my hand for dropping it in.
The Meltdown
At this point you can add black or red pepper if you want. The amount depends again on you.
I also throw in a small amount of grated cheese. It’s about a tablespoon, if you’re adding cheese on top of the bread. Two tablespoons if you’re not.
Then after melting in the butter with everything it cooks for about 5 minutes to make sure the garlic flavor is there. YOu can tell my the smell if you used enough. If not now’s tha time to add more.
I then let it cool down and then place it in a bow which goes into the fridge.
While it’s in the fridge I stir it often to make sure the ingredients get’s mixed in the oil and butter. Once it hardens you’re all set.
Finished Product
This mix is also great on a steak.
Buon Appetito!
